There is plenty of NHL action Tuesday, with eight games on the schedule. Below you’ll see my favorite picks for the slate using the Tipico Sportsbook. If you’re looking for more bets this season, check out the FTN Bet Tracker

New York Islanders -160 @ New Jersey Devils +130 — O/U 5.5

The Islanders have won three of their past four games and eight of their last 11. They’ve surrendered two or fewer goals in six of their last nine games and they rank seventh in goals against per 60 minutes at 5v5, according to Natural Stat Trick (1.97). They’re one of the stingiest teams in the league and they are starting to click on offense.

The Devils on the other hand have lost five of their past six games and have been held to three or fewer goals in six of their last seven contests. They’ve been strong in net as they rank fourth in GA/60 at 5v5 (1.91) and they enter with the second-best team save percentage at even strength (93.76%). New Jersey hasn’t been able to create much on offense, though, as they rank ninth in goals per hour at 5v5.

New Jersey will be in tough as the Islanders rank inside the top five in eliminating high-danger chances and scoring chances. Each team picked up a win against each other in two games earlier in the season and both contests went under the number.

Prediction: 3-2, New York Islanders
Best bet: Under 5.5

Buffalo Sabres +125 @ New York Rangers -155 — O/U 5.5

The Sabres have been blanked in back-to-back games and enter this matchup against the Rangers with the lowest goals for rate per 60 minutes at 5v5 (1.32). The Nashville Predators rank 30th in GF/60 at 1.78. As a result, the Sabres have lost eight of their past nine games and eight of those contests went under the number.

The Rangers haven’t had much success putting the puck in the net either, but they’ve won three of their past four games. They rank sixth in GF/60 at 5v5, largely due to only two goals this season from Mika Zibanejad. The sniper had 41 goals in 57 games last season, but he’s only beaten a goalie once this season. They’re also without their leading point producer from last season as Artemi Panarin remains away from the team due to personal reasons.

The Rangers have only scored more than two goals in regulation three times over their past nine games. Much like the Islanders and Devils matchup, this Sabres and Rangers contest has the under written all over it.

Prediction: 3-2, New York Rangers
Best bet: Under 5.5

Others to consider: Tampa Bay over Dallas; Winnipeg over Vancouver; Detroit and Columbus U 5.5
