The NHL is back. Well, almost. The puck drops on the 2021 regular season Jan. 13 for a 56-game regular season where teams will compete only in their division until the league semifinals in the playoffs.

The divisions have been realigned to accommodate travel issues between the USA and Canada. The new East Division looks to be perhaps the most difficult division top to bottom, with nearly every team in contention for a playoff berth. The Boston Bruins will start as the favorites, but early injuries could derail their regular season. The Philadelphia Flyers look to take another step and hope to hold off the veteran rosters of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.
