The NHL is back. Well, almost. The puck drops on the 2021 regular season Jan. 13 for a 56-game regular season where teams will compete only in their division until the league semifinals in the playoffs.

The divisions have been realigned to accommodate travel issues between the USA and Canada, so the new Central Division contains both 2020 Finalists in Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning and the runner-up Dallas Stars. A pair of the Original Six franchises are part of the Central Division as well in the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings. The Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators will fill out the division.

Below, check out our preview of the Central Division and others.
