Welcome to the NHL prop bets w/ Chris Meaney, where I share a few of my favorite NHL prop bets. There are 10 games on the NHL betting slate for Thursday.

This is a great night for SGP point parlays, so be sure to check out our FTN Bets Tracker for more. With our betting package you get all of our picks across all sports, plus access to our Discord channel and to our projections. Promo code Meaney will get you 20% off all packages at FTN

Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 48-44, +4.62 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Andrei Kuzmenko Point

(-134, FanDuel Sportsbook)

As discussed on Mean Streets, Kuzmenko and Jake DeBrusk are two of my favorite NHL point props for Thursday’s slate. Kuzmenko has goals in three straight and points in four straight games. He has six points over that span and he’s in a great spot to extend his streak as the St. Louis Blues rank third in GA/60 at 5v5 since Jan. 1, and they traded their best defensive forward in Ryan O’Reilly last week. Only the Anaheim Ducks and Vancouver Canucks have a higher GA/60 over that time frame. Vancouver has played to the over in 11 straight games and 17 of its past 19 contests. For the first time over his stretch, the Canucks are playing in a game with a goal total of 7. Honestly, the over may still hit. As for Kuzmenko, he scored twice in his last game, he tied his NHL best in shots with five and he played a career high 22:06.

Bonus

Adrian Kempe Over 2.5 SOG

(-114, BetRivers)

I’m not going to overthink this play, despite the massive price difference in Adrian Kempe’s shot prop. A month ago, you couldn’t find Kempe at a better price than -150 for three shots. In fact, his shot prop has been at 3.5 for the past few games. The winger has at least three shots on goal in eight straight games and he’s had at least four in four of those games. It’s also worth pointing out that he has nine goals over that span. I get it, the New Jersey Devils are strong, but their 5v5 game hasn’t been as strong over the last two months as it was to start the season. Since Jan. 1 (according to Natural Stat Trick), the Devils have allowed the seventh-most shot attempts at 5v5/60. Kempe has at least three SOG in 13 of his last 15 games and was stuck on two in the two matchups he failed to get three.

I talked about Arvidsson’s NHL shot prop in our latest episode of the PrizePicks Prop Show, which features a few more NHL props.

Connor McDavid Over 4.5 SOG

(+120, BetRivers)

McDavid’s shot prop is our plus-money play of the day, and it kind of feels like cheating because of how good he is. Asking for five shots from anybody not named David Pastrnak and Nathan MacKinnon is a lot, but McDavid’s a perfect 1-for-1 when his shot prop is at 4.5, and we’re getting it at a good price. The Oilers’ captain put nine pucks on net in his last game and he’s cleared 4.5 shots in five of his last nine games. He’s also had at least four shots on goal in seven straight games, so he’s been right at this number in every game over the last month. For the DK users who can’t get +125 anymore, +115 is still strong. The Penguins have coughed up the sixth-most shots at 5v5/60 over the last two months.
