Starting Pitchers
Not much to add to the existing groups though if you absolutely must have more starting pitchers in the mix for 15-teamers, you can also consider Rich Hill (vs. TB) and Javier Assad (@ CIN). The 42-year-old Hill hit 100 pitches in a start for the first time all season last week. He threw five scoreless innings with nine punchouts against the Orioles. Assad hit the five-inning mark for the first time in four starts. He looked sharp in those five scoreless, notching a win against the Phillies. As far as Hill goes, he will probably still face the best the Rays can throw at him on offense. Though they’ve clinched a wild card spot, they’ll want to finish as a higher seed than the Mariners.
