The NHL is back. Well, almost. The puck drops on the 2021 regular season Jan. 13 for a 56-game regular season where teams will compete only in their division until the league semifinals in the playoffs.

The divisions have been realigned to accommodate travel issues between the USA and Canada. The new West Division contains a couple of Stanley Cup contenders in the Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights, while the Arizona Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks should battle for the final playoff spot. The Minnesota Wild and Anaheim Ducks will be in the mix for an early lottery pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
