As we head into Week 3 of the fantasy football season, lineups need to be set, and with that comes some tough decisions. Now two weeks into the season, Week 3 could feel like a critical point in your season, especially if you started 0-2. As a result, this week's start/sit decisions are that much more important.

One of the most popular tools here at FTN is our fantasy football rankings. Each week, we bring you non-PPR, PPR and half-PPR rankings to help you win your league.

Throughout the season, I will break down what players our FTN rankers prefer more (or less) than the expert consensus rankings at FantasyPros. For this article, I will be looking at the half-PPR format.

Jimmy GaroppoloSF2223-1
  • When it comes to the quarterback position, FTN and the industry at large are fairly aligned for the third week in a row. Especially within the top 12.
  • Tua Tagovailoa is the only quarterback that our FTN crew is still hesitant on, as he gets set to host a tough Bills D.
  • The FTN crew give Carson Wentz and Aaron Rodgers a slight edge in their rankings as opposed to the ECR, but both are within the top 15 in both sets of rankings.

  • The most significant difference in our FTN ranks at the running back position is the overly bullishness of our rankers on both James Conner (plus-11) and Alvin Kamara (plus-6). Both coming off injuries, but our FTN rankers believe these will not hold them back this week.
  • Additionally, Bills running back Devin Singletary is being shown more love from our FTN rankers than the ECR, as they have him as a top-30 running back this week.
  • Even off a down week the FTN crew has Antonio Gibson ranked two spots higher than the ECR this week in a tough matchup with the Eagles.
  • Miles Sanders is a player our FTN crew is a bit more skeptical about this week than the ECR, as they have him outside the top 20.
  • Both Barkley and Montgomery find themselves two spots lower in our FTN ranks than the ECR, but both are still within the top 15 this week.
  • James Robinson is less than a year removed from an Achilles rupture and off to a hot start, but FTN has him outside the top 24 this week while the ECR has him inside at 23.
  • Dameon Pierce saw an uptick in touches in Week 2, but the FTN crew is still a bit worried about just how effective he will be for fantasy as they have him two spots lower than the ECR.

  • In a significant discrepancy our FTN crew appears to be all in on Julio Jones this week having him ranked 23 spots higher than the ECR, as they have him as a flex player, as opposed to the ECR, which has him on the bench.
  • At the top of the ranks, the FTN crew has Ja’Marr Chase ranked as a top-three wide receiver this week while the ECR has him at 5.
  • FTN is also a bit more bullish on Rashod Bateman and Garrett Wilson this week after they both had nice Week 2s.
  • The larges discrepancy between the ECR and the FTN crew doesn't come until the WR39, Jakobi Meyers is ranked outside the top 40 by our FTN crew while the ECR has him inside the top 40 this week.
  • Adam Thielen is another player that the FTN crew is a bit more down on this week as they have him just squeaking into the top 36 as the ECR has him comfortably inside the top 36.
  • Within the top 10, our FTN crew slightly dislikes the matchups for Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs and Amon-Ra St. Brown, having them all ranked one spot lower than the ECR.

Tight End

  • When it comes to the tight end position both FTN and ECR are mainly aligned (like most), but the FTN crew is much higher on George Kittle this week if he returns to the lineup.
  • When it comes to players that our FTN rankers like less there is a large group that they like one spotless due to the aggressive George Kittle rank. Outside this, the FTN crew is a bit more down on Tyler Higbee and Tyler Conklin
