In camps and in the preseason, everyone in fantasy football is excited by the new. Romeo Doubs and Isiah Pacheco could become the replacements the Packers and Chiefs need for Davante Adams and Darrel Williams (or maybe still Kareem Hunt). But the increased attention has pushed Doubs and Pacheco up draft boards and robbed fantasy players of their chance to capture fair value to offset the risk that those less pedigreed rookies may seldom play in their freshman seasons.

 

They may not be sexy, but the veterans who have underwhelmed in recent seasons often provide the best value on draft days. Their roles are easier to predict. And their disappointments frequently have as much to do with their circumstances as their talent and...
